Ok I have finally got my desired flags and silhouettes working with VRS on my own received aircraft picked up by my AirNav Micro Radarbox, I am able to easily edit my own Basestation.sqb file as desired via VRS datbase editor.

But......if I view the 'merged feed' from VRS showing aircraft picked up by other users' ADSB receivers it displays the flags they have set within their own Basestation.sqb, is there any way I can use my desired symbols within the VRS display for 'merged data' or am I right in thinking I am stuck with whatever flag has been chosen by someone else?

Thanks

I don't use VRs but how are you merging the feeds from others?

I suspect you're viewing their data, including their flag and silhouette population.

My guess is you need a feed of the raw data but that may not be possible.

For example, the MMS2 data sharing feeds raw data so the BaseStation look and feel is controlled by the individuals taking a feed:

Hello again Anmer, thank you for your reply.

Having fried my brain over the past few days helping a new ADSB colleague setup remotely and now being able to easily edit our own basestation.sqb files to show desired flags and silhouettes I have just checked how exactly I am getting shared data.

it transpires I am not getting it via AirNav Radarbox, but am getting it direct from Freedar.uk here http://radar.freedar.uk/VirtualRadar/desktop.html# so I have one page which is my own in VRS and another page which is using VRS to view Freedar.

I have just sent them a message to see if it is possible to get raw data or not or any other workaround.

Not having any SBS products I am unsure whether or not I can use the SBS1 Client or not.

I have been able to run Basestation software and even AD Lite to edit basestation.sqb, but the VRS editor is much easier for me.

I don't think you have an option but to accept the Freedar silhouettes nand logos.  You're viewing VRS running on the Freedar server.

You are quite right, I have now received the answer and they are the flags and silhouettes Freedar have chosen to use and cannot be edited by anyone else. Nor is the raw data available via that route.
