I turned on my sbs-1 for the first time in years on a new pc. After initial antennae problems I can track aircraft 230 miles west of me. Im using an outdoor antennae with low loss cable and a mast head amplifier. Virtual radar has changed a lot and there doesn't seem to be as many resources for sb1 as there was years ago. How can I auto populate aircraft registrations? There used to be a link on the Gatwick Aviation web site to do this but it has gone? Help appreciated

The GAS website and database has disappeared.  SBS-1 Populate can no longer populate using the GAS server.

But Dutchradar.nl is providing free access to its database using the old SBS-1 Populate.

Alternatively you can buy into some paid services.

I now use SBS-1 Populate for individual aircraft lookups on the DutchRadar.nl server but there are a few (interim?) data issues.

See this post.

its coming up "data base unavailable"??

Can you be more precise or upload a screen capture of the message?

Are you using SBS-1 Populate and have you set the path to your active BaseStation.sqb?

Settings -> Database

When the Gatwick Aviation Society box comes up and you press auto populate in the message box is "AP22 DB read failed - Fatabase unavailable

Just tested Auropopulate here and it's working.

You will get the "AP22 DB Read failed........" message if you haven't set the database path to your active BaseStation.sqb file.

As mentioned in my previous email.

The folder which contains your active Basestation.sqb file.

c:\programfiles(x89)\kinetic\
IM STILL GETTING SAME MESSAGE AS BEFORE

Getting frustrated at this stage. help appreciated

Thanks.

Since Basestation was installed in the default Program Files location, the active sqb file (database) is in the Virtual Store.

Google "How to view the Virtual Store".  It's too complex for me to explain here, but easy to follow.

The database path should be to the Virtual Store folder for the sqb file.

BUT!

At this time the Dutchradar.nl server seems to be unavailable.
