Hi all,

If the weather is good i want to remove my very old EU-stick scanner antenna (very cheap antenna and not very good reception) for a Scan king se1500. I want to put the antenna on my chimney. As you can see on the picture is the red circle my adsb antenna and i past the new antenna in the picture in black circle.

Now is my question, would the scanner antenna give any interference with my adsb? I mean will it still keep the same full 500km range i have now, or will it lose some signal due to the metal antenna?

Hope someone here maybe has also his scanner and adsb close to eachother and can tell me more about it.

Thanks

I have both my antennas like yours are, and have not had any problems, they have been up for quite a few years. Installed by local tv antenna company who are also radio hams. They should not be a problem

Thanks for your reply, do you maybe have a picture of your antenna setup? So you say it would have no issues with both antennas next to each other?

Hope this comes ok

Yes it is almost the same what i want to do. What is your range with adsb? i had +/- 500km around me. But i have no high buildings around my house, living in a small village (Sluiskil Netherlands). Here you can see my range: https://www.radarbox.com/stations/EXTRPI028175

Not directly we have the Welsh hills to the west off us and the Pennines to the east. The plus side of it is we are high up
39.5 metres above sea level and then add another 15 metres for antennas

Well last week got to my roof top and build the antenna there, i use Aircell 5 cable with good plugs, pulled the cable to my pc and made the BNC plug in to it. Then plug in the BNC splitter (1 part go's to SBS-3 other part to scanner)..... ) reception on SBS-3 my RSSI dropt from 74 to 24.. So i take multi meter and i found out antenna is broke. It is showing 0.09Ohm.

So i contacted Faramir, and he had a AOR DA3200 antenne that i brought to me, so i have to look now for building stuff like a good mount for a pole. Torrow Airceel 7 cable with plugs is coming and im going to try out with Adapter plug N-Male - SO239-Female to see what AOR brings for my SBS-3 and scanner..
