My first trip to Sywell this year and a nice surprise was seen, just delivered the day before (in kit form) was a Lockheed 12A Electra N12EJ to become G-AFTL (its old reg). Plenty of history to this aircraft as it was flown on covert photo missions over Germany just before the start of WW2.

Hi Peter,

You were on the ball spotting the the Electra in kit form.
Many wouldn't of seen that.

It was only delivered on Thursday but apparently was put undercover late on Friday after my morning visit, a few others had noticed it and there are more photos knocking about now. I did read an article about it in Aeroplane Montlhy about 3 months ago but no idea it was coming to Sywell...

The next Spitfire RM927 / G-JNMA (being rebuilt for a French owner) also appeared outside along with the next Buchon G-HISP...basically to fit the Electra in.
