A Long shot, But many years ago in the Kinetic base station heyday, SOMEONE was producing the airspace outlines. Does anyone know who this might be, or has someone the knowledge to produce updated ones.

I am looking into options for this: https://skywise.caa.co.uk/flight-information-display-fid-systems-guidance-material/

I like the SBS, and am looking to make it a viable option for FID, but updated outlines would be critical.

Currently under test I have an SBS 1 feeding Virtual Radar Server, and using Basestation as I prefer the screen view. I am also looking at an MLAT option, many years ago I used a networked system, this also seems to be an option.

I have recently spoken to my CAA representative, and encouraged to submit a safety case, so there MAY be legs in this.

If anyone knows someone who they think can help with this project, please contact me.

Julian

Is it just outlines for Basdestation that you're looking for?  And outlines of what?

For a couple of Dutch airfields I used Jordan's Outline Maker. It is basically a map on which you can draw lines that you can save in a file. Just add the type to determine the color it uses and you've got yourself a Basestation-ready outline. It is a very handy tool!

I think he means the airways line/routes that we also you use in Basestation, waypoint to waypoint.

With  further thought What I am now looking to do is add the RNP approach for Runway 26 and 08 to Basestation as an outline.

So I need to understand how to convert the coordinates from the plate into an outline, preferably with point names attached. although they may need to be a separate file and they may be Way points?

I have all this DATA available in Google Earth if that helps?

I would like to get this added prior to submitting a safety case in relation to CAP 670

Advice please.

Do you mean just the waypoints and the routes between them, or are you also looking at drawing the holds as well ?

I'm assuming that your references to 26 and 08 indicate Gatwick.

SBS Resources was only a "collection" of files with built-in utlities.

You can create your own "outlines" using Jordan's Outline Maker:

https://acme.com/jef/outlines/

If you need runway centrelines you need to ask our member Acarslogger:

On reflection, the OP is probably referring to 08 and 26 at Kemble - sorry, Cotswold - rather than Gatwick.  Both runways have RNAV approaches, in which case my reference to holds can be ignored.

So just a combination of waypoints and (out)lines, unless the plan is to show height restrictions and magnetic tracks as well ?

I am looking to show a plan view of the RNAV to 26 and 08. If I can add the waypoint name even better.

I have the coordinates for the approaches, I need to understand how to convert them for a .OUT file. I am not needing the missed approach points. basically a T shape showing the two approaches.

We don't have a Hold, thank goodness.

Use Jordan's Outline Maker.

Either mark it up yourself or paste the coordinates:

Or ask "Paul"  ;)

In this case, the OP won't be able to digitise the coordinates, as the waypoints don't correspond to physical points visible on Google maps.

So it's a case of pasting in the coords from the source RNP coding tables.

The aim should be to end up with something like this:

{EGBP RNP 08 approach}
51.64117+-2.31034
51.65356+-2.19431
51.66683+-2.06864
51.68008+-1.94192
51.59799+-1.91987
51.55908+-2.28824
51.64117+-2.31034
-1

(omit the last 4 points if the missed approach isn't required)

Dave

Edit: you can also create a waypoint file if you want to have the names of the fixes displayed as well.
