Hi guys. I have a new (to me) laptop on Win 7 home. I have downloaded V.184 for my SBS-1 from the Kinetic website and got that going. I have downloaded S92Driver SQB file in an attempt to repopulate as a total new set up.
My problem is, I have no idea what I am doing, where to put it, etc as Win 7 is all new to me as of yesterday (18/5/22) , I was using a laptop on Win XP Pro for the last 15 years or so.  I am also Partially Sighted, so I get frustrated with some stuff and moving files, etc is all gobbledygook to me.
Could someone help me sort it out, either remotely or if they are local to me (Ashton-under-lyne, Hyde, Stalybridge) or a little further around in Greater Manchester/Lancashire/Cheshire and I will cover their fuel costs, etc.

Hello Mark and Welcome.
People seem to choose different ways to set up their SBS.
Personally, I create a folder on C drive and call it KINETICS.
When you run the installation program, change the route to just C:Kinetics/ and follow the instructions for installing as per Kinetic BS.
Once the installation has completed, simply copy n paste the basestation.sqb within that installation and overwrite the blank one and you should be good to go.

You may have a population program for the hexcodes you pickup, personally I use Planebase, but if you are looking to use any of our flags that we produce within the galley, then you may have to manually enter the name of the flag in order for it to show, so to speak.

Hi Mark

I can help remotely if you want to arrange this at a mutually convenient time?  Preferably today as I'm away for a very long weekend from tomorrow.

Mike, you are a star. Today is absolutely fine. Just tell me what I need to do to link with you. Any time today is fantastic.  If you could as well as the SQB, could you add Mode-S Tweaker (If I have the right .NET programme) and approaches for Manchester and Heathrow.

Hi Mark

I've emailed you instructions for the remote session.

Thanks for that Mike. Is the code on a time limit, so if I do it now, will it still be valid this afternoon ?

I wish to express my wholehearted thanks to Anmer today for sorting out my Basestation. As I am a complete computer retard, he spent almost 3 hours with me remotely. No way I could have done it myself with the problems it had. Again, my heartfelt thanks for the time and effort he put in today to help me out.
