Pilot reports unid lights off the coast of ireland

Around 20:30 UTC I heard a commercial pilot (Irish accent) speaking to Shannon AP. He reported a formation of lights off the west coast of ireland, first thought to be flares then later thought they might be fighters on maneuvers but moving in patterns he had never associated with any aircraft he had seen. Another pilot chipped in saying he had experienced the same a couple of months ago in the same area (managed to record that bit on my phone).

First time i've heard anything like that reported over the radio.
