Airfield Outlines

I get many direct requests for airport outlines.  These used to be available via SBS Resources hosted on a Gatwick Aviation Society server, now long gone.

I have some of my own outlines but most were created by Paul Brown and Rod Bearden, amongst others.

I was thinking of hosting outlines on this forum but I can't be sure who created the individual files.

Does anyone have views about doing this?  I would happily remove any if requested and add new ones as they become available.

There's a website that let you create these outlines. It's called Jordan's Outline Maker.

I've used it to create outlines for some Dutch military airfields. I'm happy to supply these should there be any interest in them.

The app was created for Jordan Hayes, nearly 20 years ago!

I think it would be very useful if you could host outlines. I have used the outline maker to make some very simple outlines when I have needed an outline that I did not have. I am sure there are lots of outlines out there that are better than the ones I have made.

I'm expoloring a suitable mod for the forum which will make it easier to upload and search for Outline files.  May take me a while but in the meantime would appreciate additional views.

It would be a great resource and compliment the logos already hosted.

I think it's a great idea and worth pursuing.

I would find it useful as I have requested help from you at times before regarding Airport Outlines. I will be off to Canada next year so I will be looking for at least Calgary. Keith

Bit of an update though still Work in Progress.

I've bought a licence for a forum mod that will host airport outlines.  It's from the same developer as the Gallery which is used for logos and silhouettes.

The new mod will also allow members to upload their own files and I hope this will be a useful forum feature.

The first step is upload the existing outlines, nearly 2,000 in total.  Most were created by Rod Bearden and Paul Brown.  Unfortunately neither are members of this forum and I would prefer to get their permission to host their files, even though they are freely available elsewhere.

If anyone has contact details for Rod or Paul, could they send me a Personal Message?
