Strange statement in the article:

"It's evidently too late for anyone aggrieved by their ADS-B data being sold"

No, it isn't - just stop feeding if you don't want that to happen.

I remember when ADSBExchange was first launched.  It rode on the back of FlightAware's PiAware/MLAT plus VRS.  There was some debate in FlightAware as how to react and the view was it wouldn't last without substantial investment.  And Dan originally claimed he wasn't in it "for the money".

How wrong they were.

Mind you, if FR24, FlightAware and others didn't block flights, there may not have been an ADSBExchange.

And I always said PlanePlotter would miss its commercial opportunity.

If only Kinetic hadn't reneged on its promised data sharing.............?

But life goes on and the graveyard of flight tracking apps continues to fill up.

There are now 'replacements' coming on line to fill the gap where ADSBExhange sold out.

The one with the best coverage so far is https://globe.adsb.fi/

others are https://www.adsb.lol and https://www.adsb.one

Thankfully ADSBExhange always claimed at anyone could set up the software and run an ADSBExhange type site and the dev team fought to keep the software open source. Seems that some of the community are taking up this challange and setting up there own site. They all provide un-filtered MLAT feedback data :)

I've moved my feed to sky scan world UK based with coverage around the world can be set up either via a pi client or through VRS

Hello,

in the ex ADSBExchange Discord Forum three Members setup new global ADSB Servers :

https://globe.adsb.fi
https://globe.adsb.one
https://globe.adsb.lol    Visit for more Informations: https://adsb.lol

All with openSource Software MLAT Server and TAR1090 (Same GUI as ADSBExchange)

It's easy to feed to the new Servers all Servers also Support MLAT:

Scripts for Installation you found on Github.

Additional to the above.

For anyone running a setup with a docker stack, there are docker containers avaliable for each of the above listed sites. Check out the SDR Enthusiats Discord server #adsb-containers

Unfortunately I'm a bit confined with the feeder options of the Air!Squitter. Perhaps some FeederPi could be made to feed to all the new sites. Multiple connections to the Air!Suitter are allowed so if a Pi could get the traffic from the Air!Squitter (BEAST format) that way a feeder platform outside the receiver could be made.
I've got no idea what docker containers are but maybe somewhere a good explanation can be found...

I'd better pull my finger out and get that SD card you wanted ;)

or....

Read this (several times) - follow this (at least once) - worked for me.

;D No worries Rik, no worries...
Perhaps it's better that I go after the feeder-pi option to be more flexible than is possible with just the Air!Suitter.
I'll go work with the guide  :)
