Hi All

I'm looking for an sbs-1e/1er/3 in good working order.

Although I live in Spain, I might be able to pick it up from the UK at the end of next week.

I would be willing to part-exchange it for an Airnav Radarbox Pro in excellent condition  :)

PM me if you would like to make an offer.

Stephen

Dear All

I'm still looking for a Kinetic receiver. If posting to Spain is putting you off, fear not, as I have an address in England you can send it too. I can then pick it up from there the next time I'm back in Blighty.

Thanks  :-*

Thanks I have already had a look at these dealers.

I was ideally hoping someone on the forum would be updating to an sbs-3 or a Transponder Mouse, and would have a sbs-1e/er for sale at a reasonable price.

That hasn't happened yet  :'(

And no sign of Kinetic's supposedly affordable Blue Puck.

Maybe it should be renamed the Kinetic Brigadoon  :)

Apologies for gloom and doom but no way am I upgrading to an SBS-3 from an SBS-1e and I told Chris_Kinrtic that when I met him at Newark Hamfest (or whatever it was called - meeting of the great unwashed according to Mike).

SBS-3 offers nothing that I want - increased range? I can't see them. ACARS - why do I want that (and can that get that on a dongle)? ATC - got that on my dongle.

Blue Puck is the way forward. That might release some SBS-1e.

What i can't understand is why the ripoff price, maybe the gold coloured SMA is real gold  ;D

Stephen.

You will find most people who bought an SBS-1 that works ok, would like to keep them. I have had mine since 2005, its plods aways 24/7/365 giving data to plane plotter, until it bites the dust its reliable easy to have add ons and doesn't give problems.

Why would i want to by another SBS unit.

I use a cheap dongle for out and about with my laptop which gives what i need for plane hunting. Maybe in time when prices come down a little, or i become one of the rich pensioners on this forum, i may buy a new unit.

Thanks for all the opinions expressed on this thread. I can now see why there are very few, if any sbs-1e/ers on the used market.

I'll wait for a few more months to see if the promise of new, lower cost receivers materialises. If not, it's a new sbs-3 at some point next year.
