From Bev:

Hi,

PlanePlotter version 6.6.6.9 is on the web site now.
http://www.planeplotter.com#download

For Win XP platforms.  "www.coaa.co.uk/planeplotter6_6_5_9XP.exe" is available without the IPv6 feature.

---Usual boilerplate---
Updates are free to registered users.

You may need to exercise your browser Refresh function to force it to show you the new version of the PlanePlotter web page. If you post a message complaining that the web page is still pointing to an earlier version, you pay a forfeit - unless I forgot to update the web page, in which case I pay a forfeit!

You can install the new version over the old one but you *must* close/exit PlanePlotter before installing the new one. Nic's installer will warn you if PlanePlotter is still running when you try to install the new version. Your settings from the previous installation will be preserved.

If you have a version-specific firewall or security system, you may have to reassure it that the new version is permitted to access the Internet. Be aware that increasingly, security systems treat any new file as a threat without any justification except that it is new. Please don't write to me about it; write to your security system provider and ask them to make their program smarter.
-----------------------
The following are the changes since the last promulgated version 6.6.5.9

Version 6.6.6.1
Add a local decode option for TCP-connected receivers.

Version 6.6.6.2
Add an on-screen alert if a sharing cycle fails.

Version 6.6.6.3
Add an on-screen alert if the receiver conenction fails.

Version 6.6.6.4
Separate the two on-screen warnings for server and receiver
 failures.

Version 6.6.6.5
Fixed SBS1/3 direct TCP reporting as connected when it actually
 failed to connect.

Version 6.6.6.6
Editorial changes in the SPI display.

Version 6.6.6.7
Detect and recover from sharing lockout when Internet connection
 fails during a sharing transaction.

Version 6.6.6.8
Add a new option in PP..Options..Chart..Options to control the
 display of the Weight Category.

Version 6.6.6.9
Detect if running under Wine and if so, do not check for NTP running.
Add an option to display the site name for Beamfinder radar sites.
Note that the new radar.txt Beamfinder text label colours use the
same colours as the Beamfinder symbols and radials.  They are defined
in PP..Options..Chart..Options and then clicking the "Vect cols"
button (vector colours) at bottom right. You can choose different
colours for II/SI radar vectors (II/SI codes), Mode A/C radar vectors
(ZZ codes), and Mode S radar vectors (ZS codes).
