Reworking 30 planes sounds like a huge and expensive task that will take years to complete making these 30 plane even older. Maybe some airline will want a 10 year old or older new plane but at a discount.
In the end, it might end up being cheaper to salvage the good components and scrap the air frames and what ever else that can't be reused.

Maybe Boeing did the math and reworking the 30 aircraft is worth the time and money.
