E4000 v R820T dongles for SDR.

My not be the right place to ask this but here goes.
Might be a good idea to to ask the question as ther maybe other members tempted to go down this route. (For monitoring not ADSB)
Just how good is one against the other?
With the Kinetic Puck about to appear at an unknown price are the dongles really any good as a cheap way to get a SDR.
(I do understand setting up may be involved especially GnuRadio on Linux.)
Any comments / pitfalls would be appreciated.

I'm using an E4000 for VHF airband but my R820T is being tested for ADSB. Not sure how I would test the difference between them for SDR.

Probably best to look at forums that concentrate on SDR for an answer.

I used a Microadsb dongle and it was good but bought an R820T dongle message rate improved as did range, so i can say there good IMHO.
