Heavy snow in Mildenhall, last two aircraft (KC-135s in from refuelling RAMAs over the Atlantic) got down safely after a few goes at landing.

Heavy snow across the East Midlands has led to the closure of around 20 schools and caused flight delays and diversions at East Midlands Airport.

Met Office Amber warnings to "be prepared" for snow remain in place for the region.

Nottingham and the Pennines had the heaviest snowfall overnight and snow continued on Monday.

Motorists have been urged to take extra care on the roads.

Workers have been clearing the runway at East Midlands Airport after heavy snow fell there.
