In a Yahoo group I read that a band pass filter could improve reception by reducing local interference e.g. from mobile masts. The idea is that the strong loacal signal overloads the receiver so that the sensitivity is to be reduced.

As I have a mast about 200m away I was wondering if anybody here has any experience with these filters.

The only affordable filter I could find was the VBFZ 1065 from Mini Circuits. This can be inserted between antenna and receiver.  http://217.34.103.131/homepage/homepage.html

Are there any others ?

I am using this BPF and notice no degradation of range.
