Does anyone know at which tail numbers AAL jets started to be delivered with the new livery?

Also, are there any other "retro" jets beside N951AA?

DaveNF2G

I found a partial answer to my own question.

Aircraft in new AAL livery so far (according to pictures on airliners.net):

N368AA
N717AN
N718AN
N719AN
N908NN

Stumbled across this site which lists aircraft painted and aircraft that are due in for paint. Not sure if it will be kept up to date though??

Looks like a good resource at its beginning.

The stuff imported from Airliners.net is indecipherable to me.

What does this mean? Which aircraft is it supposed to be?
3DM-ROW-2/27

3DM is the fleet number and i presume will be painted as ROW????? Roswell?? on the 27th Feb??

3DM=N979AN B738

I'm guessing that the letters are the IATA codes for the airports where the aircraft will be painted:

ROW = Roswell, NM (Roswell International Air Center)
GUS = Peru, IN (Grissom ARB)
VCV = Victorville, CA (Southern California Logistics Airport)

Looking at their website, the Dean Baldwin company has facilities at all 3 locations. A nice little earner!

Great. Sure would be nice if people would use commonly recognizable identifications, like tail numbers.

WHere can I find conversion info?

moonie31

I got my info from Air Britains AFQR which lists most of the US carriers fleet numbers.

I'm sure with a bit of searching the t'interweb there will be a page somewhere with these cross referencings already done

Interesting info. I guess the "fun" of the hobby lies in ferreting out widely dispersed information and making sense of it.
