SBS-3 possible connections to PC

Mike can you not put the SBS next to the router and connect your PC wirelessly?
I suspect the answer is how you PC is set up for IP configuration but difficult to guess

Unfortunately my router is in the lounge and my PC/SBS3 are in a spare bedroom - my den, until August when last daughter moves out and I get her larger bedroom which has a connecting point for the router - then everything will be in the same room. I am beginning to think that the ethernet connector on my PC is not working.
