Gary from GAS has asked me to post this here:

We (GAS) are currently mid-way through a 2 week process to reconfigure our server setup.

After more than 4 years of faithful and reliable service, a partial failure of a Win 2003 server and associated ageing software has triggered this work.

In addition, we need to provide more server power for future versions and increasing demand so a new and much beefier server will replace the ailing one. This has been running for a week and a lot of the setup is now loaded.

However, there will be downtime this week while the domain servers are redirected and the final, 'tricky stuff' is enabled.

If all goes to plan a 12-24 hour outage will occur, the actual time generally depending upon where in the world you are running the programs.

This work should not affect the offline operation of AD, AD Lite or even SBSPopulate so long as online functions (eg autopopulate, Routes, Photos) are toggled off.

Please bear in mind that our resources will be very limited in the next few weeks to answer questions etc. Please send them in anyway via the Help>>Support links but do not expect our normal level of response.

I'll post the expected downtime start when we are ready to go.

GAS webite will give status updates as necessary at ...

I was just going to ask on the forum if anyone else had a problem with active display as mines been running at a snails pace all morning.  cheers anmer for the information.

Ta Anmer,

Last night I uninstalled and re-installed AD as it was running very slowly, but that didn't improve matters.
I was going to leave it for a few days and see what happened before posting, but it looks like you've explained it before I asked :-)

Cheers,

Keef.

There had been another problem with AR not related to the new server caused by a problem with route lookups. On advice from Gary I turned RL off and my copy started to run normally again (apart from taking longer than normal to start in the first place) I will leave RL off until after the upgrade/changes have been made.

Update from GAS:

The plan is now to start the switch at around 2200 tonight (Wed) so no online services will then be available for some time.
We are aiming for 24 hours downtime but will post here if this changes for any reason.

Depending on how smoothly or otherwise it goes, we may restore things in stages.

If any difficulties are encountered while there is no GAS website, the status can also be viewed at ...

When I started AD this morning it told me my subscription (which I renewed a few days ago) has run out!

;D Mines the same so I assume that nit is all part of the upgrade going on. However, Gary's message implied that provided we had all look-ups" switched off it should work locally which is not the case. Never mind I really appreciate the program and hope it will be back before my session ends today  :)

Same here,

I tried to re-enter my license details and got a message about qlm.mdb not being in a valid path.
The path is to my D: drive which is a CD drive and has not been used for AD at any point that I am aware of.

Hope it all gets sorted soon, I'm sure there's a lot of work going on to get it restored.

Cheers,

Keef.
