Woah, we're going to Barbados: Thomas Cook launches direct flights from Manchester to the Caribbean

The first services to St Lucia and Antigua outside London airports will be launched later this year by Thomas Cook Airlines

Direct flights to a host of Caribbean islands are taking off from Manchester Airport this winter.

The first services to St Lucia and Antigua outside London airports will be launched later this year by Thomas Cook Airlines.

The carrier will also operate flights from Manchester to Barbados, giving local holidaymakers keen to soak up the sun an extra way to get to the destination.

A weekly Manchester-St Lucia-Barbados flight will launch on November 10 and a weekly Manchester-Antigua-Barbados flight will run from December 19, chiefs have confirmed.

Ken O'Toole, chief commercial officer for Manchester Airports Group, welcomed the news – and said the flights would initially operate until the end of April 2014.
