AIRLINE easyJet will let customers use their mob- iles to check in at Stansted and Southend airports.

The UK's largest airline is trialling mobile boarding passes at six airports including the Essex terminals, Manchester, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Nice.

easyJet says passengers will be able to check in within ten seconds and download and store their boarding passes on iPhone and Android phones.

They will be able to use the system through easyJet's successful mobile phone app.

I'm sure more than half the population can use a smart phone. Certainly most people at airports seem to have one.

I've got to like Easyjet over the past couple of years. On the Stansted-Belfast route, as soon as all passengers are onboard they get under way and frequently arrive 15 mins early. The staff are very helpful and courteous too.
