Easyjet founder Sir Stelios's 'No' vote on new £8bn fleet unlikely to prevent deal

EasyJet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou today confirmed that he will use his 37% stake in the group to vote against its plan to buy 135 new planes.

Sir Stelios, who has been an outspoken critic of the company's management team in recent years, said he opposed the deal but expected it to be approved by the group's other shareholders at an investor meeting on July 11.
