Got an update for LHR visitors center.. posted from another site for info.. Cheers Ian.

I was there on Thursday (7 June) and the parking charges are as follows.

Upto 30 mins      Free
Upto 1 hour         £2.50
Upto 3 hours       £4.50
Upto 5 hours       £7.50
Upto 7 hours       £12.00

No "free parking" for disabled badge holders either as before, and these charges also apply to the BAA car park that the public can use at weekends.

The police were also advising people that they now have to enforce the "no parking" on the double yellow lines outside of the offices at weekends, which they ignored in the past. They say that people will be told to either move away, or go into the car park.

Those charges are not that bad. The aviation viewing park at Manchester starts at £3.00 no free time

Post copied from another site, but gives you a heads up.. ;)

Thanks for the previous notifications on the newly re-opened, larger car park.

We used it on Sunday morning before moving on to the BA Classic Car Show.

New signage stated that parking was available to the public at weekends.
The attendant told us that he couldn't let us in - we had to use the speaker button on the gate.
We were asked if we were contractors. I said we were public and that the signage stated
that we could use the car park at weekends. We were then, it seemed to me, begrudgingly let in.

The attendant though was friendly, stating that the first 30 minutes were free.
The old machine had been mended but still only takes coin.

We were the only visitors in the car park all morning, but worth it for the space constraints
in the tiny free car park, ie. first come. first parked.
