I had a problem a few months ago with the display settings window not working properly which was resolved. Alas it is playing up again. I click on the display settings window which comes up but not all the details are there in the window and BS freezes up and doesn't close down properly. I get a message "Exception EAccess Violation in module Bastation.exe at 0002E3CE. Access violation at address 0042E3CE in module 'Bastation.exe' read of address 31303058" I have to use Task Manager to close BS down.

I did a BMPCHECK and found one "dodgy" file but after getting rid of it the problem is still there. I then renamed the Operators Flags folder and run an empty Op' flags folder and problem has gone. So it would seem there is something in the Operators Flags folder that is not agreeing with BS.  I downloaded and reinstalled a new set of flags and at the moment everything seems to working ok.

When you were having the problem this latest time, was Basestation loading and running OK for a while or did the problem occur when you started it?

How many files are in the original OperatorFlags folder and how much memory has your PC got installed?

Hi, yes BS was loading and running ok but unfortunately I don't know how long there had been a problem with display settings as I have not change any settings for a while. It was only when I went to use it last night to change some settings that I noticed there was a problem.

The OperatorFlags folder had 9714 files! most of which I don't need, I originally downloaded the flags from Active Display. I have now created a new OpsFlag folder and downloaded new files from AD and at the moment everything seems to working ok.

I am running Win7, 32bit with 4GB RAM. My hard drive is showing 280GB free of 465GB.

Many thanks

Thanks.

So the problem only occured when you wnet to use the Display Settings menu or something further along the change path?

Yes it was only when I went to use the display settings that I noticed there was a problem. It looked ok at first but when I went to change some settings some of the writing would disappear, for example the Aircraft List Display wouldn't have any writing in it such as line, background and text, and then I couldn't open any other folders in the tool bar yet BS was still working until I went to close it down, which it wouldn't do. Very strange but at moment it seems to be working ok.

Thanks.

In 8 years I haven't seen this problem before.

Maybe an ini file issue?

I did wonder if was an ini problem, if something had got corrupted. What I'll do is keep checking the Settings tab and display list and see if it happens again.
