I set it up RTL2832U , loaded the driver from Zadig , setup the RTL 1090 softwarebeta2 ......on hte RTL1090 I goto the config as told and switch the TCP port to 30003, but after that I am still seeing TCP at 31001  when I sign up with FLightradar24 premium feeder sofware I had to change the login to 31001 ... and it took all the readings ok! I am getting the ADS-B , modeS info and seems to be working on FLightradar24 Premium.  the software gives me a Baseradar ID and I can login no problem

QUestion is I am getting all civilian traffic and nothing on the military side.. I am in the  United states DFW area and I am sure there is mil traffic by the military base .... Am I doing anything wrong and not getting those info? Help!

Thanks!

Dave,

Do you mean you are not seeing mil traffic in FR24? If so have you tried applying the T-MLAT filter?

Are you using any other software to plot your local traffic?

currently
I am using as described.... and using chrome I have FLightradar24 premium open and also flightradar24 pro... seeing lots of civilian traffic but no mil.

How do I do the M-LAT filter?? do we do it thru the FLightradar24 premieum or the pro ?? or do I need to get somthing else for that purpose???

Kind of a newbie ! sorry for my simplistic questions...

As Anmer suggested, you might want to check what RTL1090 is seeing before worrying about FR24.

If nothing else, look at the output on the RTL1090 screen after clicking on "Table" in the bottom set of tabs. That will show the hex code, call sign, etc and might give you a clue as to whether any military aircraft are active.

And MLAT relies on multiple receivers. If FR24 does not have enough of their receivers in your area, there will be no MLAT fixes.

Dave,

I just realised that trying to see your mil aircraft in FR24 is probably not the way for a newbie to go.

I have not done it myself but a some people are running a copy of Basestation with their dongle.  It is not an easy thing to set up but you will be able to see all aircraft your dongle is receiving.

See here for further info: http://sonicgoose.com/basestation-and-rtl1090/

Maybe start with Virtual Radar Server or adsbScope to display your locally received messages, both those with positions and those without.  Both of these are free and easy to use with RTL1090.

Or try Globe-S-RTL1090 from the same place as RTL1090 (http://rtl1090.web99.de/).

Some people have problems with it but it works fine for me.
