Carol Vorderman makes emergency landing at Gloucestershire Airport

TV personality and student pilot Carol Vorderman made an emergency landing at Gloucestershire Airport yesterday during a solo training flight.

Her Piper PA28, four seat trainer developed a minor fault shortly after take-off causing a burning smell in the cockpit.

Carol promptly initiated her emergency drills and returned to the Airport. Air Traffic Controllers alerted the Airport's emergency services, who stood by as Carol landed safely. The Fire Appliance followed the aircraft back to the hangar as a precaution.
