Manchester Airport's terminal 3 partially evacuated due to 'suspicious package'

A number of passengers at Manchester Airport experienced delays after an item of luggage sparked a security alert.

Part of Terminal 3 was evacuated after a suspicious item was discovered whilst being scanned at security.

Specialist police officers were scrambled to the terminal to investigate.

However there was found to be no threat and people were allowed back into the terminal around an hour later.
