Hie there,

I started a new sqb file on 1st January 2013 and have seen all the RAF 99 Sqn C17A's except the above. I notice it does not appear in the list held by the MilMode-S site either. Does anyone know if it is in for refit or just busy in the far reaches of the earth?

Hi all! My 1st post at this most helpful looking place. :)

Roadrunner,
ZZ174 (hex 43C174) is in the US on upgrade to latest C17 software, etc, standards. ZZ171, 2 and 3 have already been spruced up back there, each being away from Brize for about 6 months, so we can expect ZZ174 back any day now. Then I think ZZ175's off for the treatment.

Can't go wrong with the beauties, get ZZ179 and 180 ordered before they shut the line down I say!

After almost eight and a half months away on mid-life upgrade at Boeing's San Antonio (Kelly Field/Lackland) facility in Texas, ZZ174 arrived back home at Brize just after 3am this morning.

Five months later...

ZZ176 has just arrived back at Brize and so 99 Squadron is at last back to full strength.

Well squadron WAS "back to full strength".....for two and a half days. Then ZZ177 set off to the States for some treatment as well.
I wouldn't have thought the newest ones needed anything doing to them.

Edit: whatever it was up to, 177 was only away three weeks, so seems 99 is back at full strength after all.
