RAF Jet Chases Russian Planes Away From UK

Two Russian planes are turned back as they approach Scotland, with jets from the Netherlands and Denmark also scrambled.

Two Russian bombers which flew close to UK airspace have been chased away by an RAF jet fighter.

The aircraft, believed to be Tupolev 95s, were spotted off the coast of northeast Scotland.

They turned away from Britain when an RAF Typhoon was scrambled from Leuchars airbase, near Dundee, where crews are on standby to intercept unidentified aircraft at a moment's notice.

As Tom says it happens every couple of months , more a photo opportunity than an incursion.

They'll line up on the east coast and hitch up their kilts as the Russians run in !!

This was yesterday's practice run....no wonder the Bears turned back !

I wonder what the Scottish Air Force will do about these incursions in the event they vote for independance 

The pilots will throw their kilts out of the cockpit - hoping it will block up the air intake of the  Russian Planes' engines. LOL
