Football World Cup 2014 Competition - Advance Announcement

This is an advance announcement of our forthcoming World Cup competition.  Further details will be announced soon.

My "Thanks" to IanK for suggesting we run a competition, similar to the one we had for Euros 2012.

For the World Cup 2014, we will have a "warm up" phase for the Group Stages.  There may be a prize, depending on the level of interest and my bank balance.

So, mostly for fun and to get you into the "swing", just post your daily match predictions before kick-off.  The more matches you predict, the more points you can score.

After the warm up phase, the main competition starts with the Round of 16 matches through to the final with an accumulator of scores and results.  We are still working out the precise format so keep checking for announcements.

Phase 2 will commence as soon as the Groups stages are finished and we will have some excellent prizes for the winner and runners up. 

The competition is open to all members and free to enter.  You don't have to buy a ticket or make a donation to join in the fun and hope to win a super prize.
