I have discovered a SBS Populate download on my computer which I downloaded years ago I run SBS 1 MK 2 and a Vista default instal. Can anybody advise as to where to instal SBS Pop or is not that simple?I am aware that GAS stopped their support for this program sometime ago.

You can install it where you like as long as you tell it where to find the active Basestation.sqb file.

But I have no idea if it can access the GAS servers or not.  I don't have any equipment installed in my temporary accommodation.

I preferred SBS1 Populate to AD and now I'm not sure if AD will be supported either?

Thank you for that Mike, your comment re it "talking" to GAS will be,I fear, the crux of the matter.
Like you I considered SBSPop to be an excellent add-on but life has taught me that nothing lasts forever.
Thanks again-

Plain and simple Graham. SBS Pop just won't work any more. It will install Okay but there will be nothing from GAS to Populate.

Anmer

Thanks for confirming that Roger.

You could use SQLite Expert Personal and selecting the "sessions" tab you can delete them for there - with BS closed of course!

I still use SBS Pop on a daily basis for updating my DB, it's quick and simple for manual edits, sure the look-ups don't work anymore but for an easy, trouble free way to add new records, it works perfectly.

MANOFKENT1JUN

How can that be easy if GAS isn't operable in such a way that it can't update new registrations?

Triple7

It's easy because it puts all of the information in the right place in the DB and ensures your DB doesn't get screwed up.

The one button click was great but it really isn't that hard with all the resources available these days and it actually adds to the enjoyment of tying things up. GAS was never 100% correct either.

Each to their own.

I am pleased to report that I have SBSPop working insofar that I am able now to delete sessions in BaseStation Reporter which is what I set out to achieve.
Many thanks to you all who posted comments and suggestions.
