Doncaster's Robin Hood Airport is closed after an aircraft had a problem with its undercarriage while landing.

The LinksAir plane, which had two crew members and one passenger on board, was flying to the airport in South Yorkshire from Belfast City Airport.

The passenger was taken to hospital for checks after the incident on Friday at 19:30 BST, the airport said.

OK, there's been an accident and an aircraft has landed with an undercarriage malfunction.  One passenger needed medical treatment but no fatalities.

It's probably a fault with the aircraft and not the runway.

So why not photograph the aircraft in situ and quickly remove it for further examination ASAP and get the airport operational again?  Why does it take over 12 hours for investigators to arrive?

It's the same with motorway accidents.  There has to be a more efficient way of dealing with the aftermath, including fatalities.

It is the same with everything these days. Nothing moved until investigators get there. Dosn';t matter about the people tha\t are delayed etc. It is, as you say, the same on our roads, and additionally on the railways. They used to be running trains within 24-48 hours of an incident but nowadays it can be a week or more....
