Hi Guys,

I am thinking of upgrading from my trusty SBS-1 to a 3 and wondered what the setup process is ?

I run a WIN7 64bit PC with Active Display and PP, and all works well - I have the latest software/ firmware for the 1.  I assume you cannot just unplug the 1 model and swap with the 3 ?

Assuming not, is it a difficult process to swap them over and keep all my settings etc. as is ?  Or do I have to effectively 'start again' re customising to my liking ?

Thanks for any help,

Steve

Hi Steve

Depending on stock, the SBS-3 may ship with an earlier version of the firmware and Basestation.

The firmware update is straightforward as long as the instructions are followed and (depending on your current version of Basestation) the software upgrade is a simple matter of replacing the Basestation.exe.

So, in essence your current settings and layout won't change.  You get a more sensitive receiver with the option to run PP without Basestation and the SBS-3 supports PP's Beamfinder and Beamfinder Plus.  Plus you get 2 x Software Defined Radios.

If you need help, I'm always here.

And if you use Ethernte for the SBS-1, the SBS-3 IP address is a doddle to change.

OK thanks Anmer ; not quite ready to take the plunge as yet, but will be in touch when I do...I wonder if there is a 2nd hand market for my SBS-1...?

Cheers,

SBS-1s are selling on eBay but not for as much as they used to.
