An RAF jet was put temporarily out of action when a pilot smashed it into a hangar.

Air accident investigators said the incident happened as the A330 Voyager, which is used to carry out in-flight refuelling with other aircraft, was trying to park at St John's International Airport in north east Canada.

A report published by Transport Canada revealed the damage caused in the crash meant the aircraft, which had flown from RAF Brize Norton, was "not airworthy".
