A couple of updates from Bev regarding the recent PP outage:

"Hi

As a result of the collapse of the server last week and the subsequent fall back to an earlier state, there were a number of duplications in the registration and authentication codes.

The server is now resolving those conflicts so some users will see a pop up dialog asking them to re-authenticate their installations. This is a chore, I know, but it is the only way to resolve the issue cleanly.

If you see that pop up message, please select PlanePlotter..Authenticate and click on the button In the dialog and fill in the details in the web page. When you receive the resulting email a few minutes later, please copy and paste (not re-type!) the new authentication code into that dialog and you will be back up running.

If you encounter any problems, please email me direct with the details from Help..About..Copy..Paste. Please do *not* paste those details into any message to this list.

Again I apologise for the change but it resulted from the collapse last week.

Regards
Bev

"Hi,

I am relieved to see that the traffic levels, the number of users, and the number of Ground Stations, are pretty much back to where they were a week ago. Thanks to John L's herculean efforts with all the changes to SMUs, the number of Mlat fixes is more or less back to where it was at that time as well.

I am keenly aware that the service was absent for part of Sunday, part of Monday, most of Tuesday and a good part of Wednesday, and that Master Users who have paid a 12 month MU subscription will have lost out on that time from their subscription.

Accordingly, I am extending by two weeks the expiry date of any Master User subscription that expires on any date after last Sunday, when it all went wrong.

I would much preferred none of this to have happened but I hope that this gesture compensates to some extent.

Regards
Bev
