A small single-engine plane has crashed into a home in Chicago, and the pilot is missing.

Police spokesman Ron Gaines said the occupants of the home were not injured in the incident at around 2.45 am (8.45am GMT)

But fire officials were still searching for the plane's pilot, believed to be the only person aboard the aircraft.
