Finally after a year got my RTL dongle working. Found out it had a bad wire in the aerial.

So using HDSDR quite happily, but now wanted to get it working on a Belkin F5l009 Network USB hub remotely upstairs where the antenna connection is located..

I have an SBS1 connected this way and it works fine, but I cannot get the RTL dongle to work. In fact I am having difficulty getting the dongle to work at all on Windows 7, whereas on Vista it is fine.

SDR# doesn't work either, unable to find dongle.
Anyone got any ideas?

I was never able to get a DVB-T to work across a network.  I think IanH had the same problem.

I was using a Silex USB/Ethernet hub but no luck.  RadarBox and SBS-1 worked just fine.  I suspect the Zadig drivers are the issue.

Rather late on the reply but I confirm what Anmer said.

In fact I was trying with the same Belkin F5l009 hub and had no success with the dongles at all. Radarbox worked fine so I knew the hub was working ok.

Seems like there is not enough "intelligence" in the dongle - someone with more knowledge might be able to explain!

And recently, while buying a USB extender cable for a printer, I have seen comments on Amazon that DVB-T dongles (which is what these are) won't work with USB extender cables. I can't remember if anyone here has  tried and succeeded with on of those.

I'm using a generic USB hub from the Rasp Pi Store and it works very well with three R820T dongles connected to it.

I'm also using 2m Belkin USB extender cables, and again they work very well with any of my R820T dongles

I use an 10m active repeater extension cable on one of my dongles without any problems.

Thanks guys - useful information.

@Bethy - might have to get one of those USB hubs for my Pi. But it is not quite the same as the hubs Anmer and myself were referring to - those connect USB devices via ethernet.

Sorry the Belkin F5l009 cant work.
This Hub i a Micro Pc like the Pi, Arduino,... that mean the driver have to be in the Belkin to work thats why no consumer Hardware can use for that.  ;D
