Grateful for some advice.

Just installed SBS1e along with SBS Resources.

Updated Basestation via SBS Resources giving latest update as 1.2.3.159. However when I check this out on Kinetic it would appear the latest is 1.2.4.184. Where am I going wrong?

When I try to load 184exe from Kinetic I get an error message saying cannot load SQLite, which means nothing to me.

Grateful for comments.

Thank you

SBS Resources hasn't been updated for years and I don't expect it to be in the near future.

It wasn't an "official" Kinetic product.

What is the URL you're using to download the BaseStation 184 exe?

No need to go to BS184 with an SBS-1e. Doesn't offer anything new over one of the earlier versions (? can't remember which).

In fact I wanted to revert to an earlier version for the SBS-1e if I can find it. (I need to write notes to myself as to why  ;D)

Mariner

Thank you for the responses.

Regarding the URL i simply googled Kinetic and got in that way.

If SBS resources is redundant how does one get flags, operators logo's etc?

Mariner.

I asked because there's a counterfeit Kinetic website.  Check today's date - showing 12th November:

http://www.kinetic-avionics.com/basestationdownloads1.php#

This is the correct one (which has BaseStation184):

http://www.kinetic-avionics.co.uk/basestationdownloads1.php

There are some downloads on the Kinetic website:

http://www.kinetic-avionics.co.uk/resourcesdownloads.php

But I don't think these files are being updated either.

Otherwise you'll have to get them from other locations such as the logos posted on this forum

Gatwick Aviation Society Active Display Lite might be worth looking at.

I use the paid version so don't have any recent experience of the lite version, but I think it could help you.

I didn't suggest that because I don't think the logos are being updated there either, or the paid version.

I think you may be right Anmer, but it might be a bit more up to date than SBS Resources.

Worth a try anyway I think as it's a free option.

I am currently using PlaneBase
It works well and the support is excellent for a free product

see http://planebase.biz/ for details

:)

I don't see any logos available from PlaneBase?  I also note it can't be used with Windows XP.

Your right I got my logos from AD but now update with logos on here!
Microsoft don't support XP so I guess we have to get used to stuff not working with XP
There are many sources for flags but the forum is the best place to start looking!

Mariner

Good Morning,

Thank you for the advice and discussion. Very much appreciated by all.

Microsoft don't support XP

Not quite true.

"Microsoft has announced the Windows XP end of support date of April 8, 2014. After this date, Windows XP will no longer be a supported operating system*. To help organizations complete their migrations, Microsoft will continue to provide updates to our antimalware signatures and engine for Windows XP users through July 14, 2015."
