To get the SBS-3 working with the various versions of Beamfinder on PlanePlotter, PP needs to acquire data from the radar transmitters.

Having read the help files and watched YouTube videos, I needed to make sure data was being seen by PP after pressing the "r" and "u" keys.

Nothing on my SBS-3  ??? And despite checking the IID box in PP Chart Options/Labels section, nothing extra was showing.

Luckily after searching I found this article: http://discussions.flightaware.com/ads-b-flight-tracking-f21/kinetic-sbs-3-to-basestation-to-planeplotter-setup-t17486.html

On the BaseStation menu, I selected, Settings/Data Settings and saw the following screen:

Nothing was ticked/checked so I adjusted it as shown. Now I get data showing in PlanePlotter as expected. And the IID info shows in PP.

Hopefully getting Beamfinder to work will now be possible  ;D

Thanks Ian for your post.

Which box in PP did you ticked/checked to get the "Sl-56" to show?

Its in Options - Chart - Options - labels - tick IID
Running SBS-3 and Planeplotter code: F4

Triple7

Not forgetting that the II / SI info is only displayed for locally received aircraft.

Thanks Dave.

Now getting the IID on the plots.  ;D

Forgot all about those little boxes. Need to re-explore PP again.  :)
