Reading Anmers post in shout box recently regarding his latest purchase I recently aquired a BT 8500 Trio call blocking phone,the question I ask is the set up seems a  mite protracted.Can any one offer any advice as to the setting up of this telephone?

The best " call blocking " feature I have ever used is to locate the long button on the side of the phone and give it a long press. The screen then went blank and I have peace of mind.

35 years ago, 1980, I had this $ 50  "Call ID " device that displayed Incoming Call number.

If I don't want this number to ever call me - I activate "Block". The calling party will hear a "ringing " tone but my phone is as quiet as mid-night.

Good for filtering out unwanted Fax Advertisements.
