Farnborough TAG Engineering Visit..22/10

Just want to say a word of thanks to Paul Paruit of the Hampshire Constabulary Small Ports Team for being the instigator of a group called Pegasus and is site based at Farnborugh.

Pegasus is a group that spotters and aviation geeks a like can join for free and they in turn act as a free set of eyes  and lookouts at the fence for airports in Hampshire, In return places like Farnborough and the owners TAG offer trips behind the scenes for lucky draw winners in return for time spent looking through bins & cameras !!      I was doing that anyway so bonus time

for the trouble of enjoying a day at the airport, you then get a behind the scenes look into the biz jet world (2-2.5 hrs) 1 hour is in the meeting room with a tour of the hangers and what goes on where, the only bummer is a strict no pictures policy airside.
I had no idea that when they get a polish, they really get a polish - a F900 leading edge for 1 side is 30 man hours - I saw a chap doing it,, (told him to speed up the polisher)
A nice selection of jets in various stages of work was shown to the crowd.

Anyway just for a change of trying to outwit the plod, this time we work with `em

Lets see if other forces can catch the bug..
