Anmer

There are many posts on Brian's Blog (aka Radarspotters.eu) announcing I've been banned from the ADS-B Community for my bad behaviour and can't be trusted.  If only I knew what I've done to deserve this condemnation?

Needless to say, I can't post a reply and the forum owner refuses to remove the offending text.

So I've decided to try a different approach and "suck up" to Brain, hoping he'll grant me a reprieve.  I appreciate his Blog doesn't get too many visitors so I'll help out by publishing his contributions here.

His creative and original comments deserve a wider audience.

Or, as someone recently remarked, it will show what a "total bell end" he is.

Mid November Update:

Chris Taylor ( Taylor Made RF ) Reviewer friend(Anmer) is continuing attacking the ADS-B community & Planeplotter Community.

1.) Trying to force Kinetic Avionics or Chris Taylor to release any information on updates on Kinetic BaseStation software enhancements.
(Note: Companies usually don't release that type of information till it's ready to be released)

2.) Anmer continuing posting forum member names on his forum front page. When some of those decided not to fully join the forum.

3.) Anmer attacking the AirNav Forum about little thing on the forum.  When mostly likely that post was already reported as spam by another forum member.

4.) Anmer is so worried about who is receiving license fee revenue from annual AD License fees.  It's not Anmer company. He doesn't need to know that type of information.

Many of us don't want to see anymore Taylor Made RF Reviews from Anmer in the ADS-B community.

Shame on Chris Taylor still using Anmer for reviews or visiting his forum.

Virgin Media dysfunction

Just a heads up that a number of PlanePlotter users - customers of Virgin Media - are reporting duplicate IP addresses to the server.

It appears that those users are connecting through a VM proxy but this means that none of the UDP traffic that is an essential part of hypersharing and multilateration will reach the intended destination.

There is some suggestion that using the Google DNS 8.8.8.8 will fix this although I am not sure how it can do so.

Apart from that, the advanced functionality in PlanePlotter cannot work with that network configuration.

If you are a customer of VM and are a Master User, I suggest doing a network test to see if you get anomalous results indicative of this abberant behaviour.

Mode-S Beast Firmware Release 1.43 (13.11.2015)

Hello all,

following some confusion around Mode-S Beast firmware, about betas and
whatever became published, this version is released for clarification
and re-synchronisation of Beast users to a common released version:

http://wiki.modesbeast.com/Mode-S_Beast:Firmware_Updates#Revision_1.43_-_13.11.2015

There are minor corrections and improvements done:

* A possible FPGA coding fault was fixed (It never caused problems,
but clean design requires such)
* FPGA output drivers were programmed for slower edges, which lowers
the internally generated noise floor of the board

The Mode-S Beast is available here:
http://shop.jetvision.de/

Enjoy!

Cheers, Günter (dl4mea)

Unencrypted ADS-B OUT Confounds Aircraft Blocking
by Amy Laboda - November 14, 2015

The business aviation industry has an important concern; the lack of any way to de-identify a particular aircraft that is broadcasting an ADS-B OUT signal. With the 2020 U.S. and European mandates for ADS-B OUT rapidly approaching, there is as yet no way to prevent any simple ADS-B receiver from viewing information broadcast by aircraft equipped for ADS-B OUT. Although the Block Aircraft Registration Request (BARR) program is no longer available, the FAA and flight tracking companies have an agreement whereby the flight trackers agree to de-identify an aircraft if requested by the aircraft's owner/operator. This is now called "blocking display of aircraft situation display to industry data," and it is administered by the FAA. But this does not prevent ground-based ADS-B receivers operated by hobbyists all over the world from being able to see even a blocked aircraft's ADS-B OUT information.

World's biggest aircraft touches down in one of Britain's 'worst towns'

Incredible Ukrainian Antonov AN-225 is the longest and heaviest plane ever built - and it's been filmed in a very unlikely setting

Plane spotters are celebrating after seeing one of the world's most impressive aeroplanes land near one of Britain's least impressive towns.

The supersized Ukrainian Antonov AN-225 landed at Robin Hood airport outside Doncaster on Wednesday.

It is understood to have spent a night at the airport before setting off again.

This fattened-up flying machine was recorded in high resolution by a local filmmaker, who published the footage on a Youtube channel called TopFelya.

His video has now been viewed more than 100,000 times.

Further message from Bev:

More pain from Virgin Media

There are currently five Ground Stations reporting the same WAN IP address (62.252.189.70), which is a Virgin Media Proxy. They cannot operate as a Ground Station without submitting a proper IP address with their posts.

Please will the following Ground Stations immediately change their DNS server from the default Virgin Media DNS server to the Google 8.8.8.8 DNS server.

aO s0 ao ra tC

Details on how to do this were included in a recent post to this group.

This change fixes the problem.

There are probably many other VM users that are not contributing anything at the present time, but that I have not noticed. If you are a Virgin Media customer, please consider changing your DNS server to 8.8.8.8.

Boycott Taylor Made RF Limited Store and Kinetic Avionics Products.

Taylor Made RF customers need to boycott and protest for the new Kinetic Avionics SBS-4 to be released.

Taylor Made RF Limited
Elstree Aerodrome
Hogg Lane
Hertfordshire WD6 3AW , United Kingdom
http://www.tmrf.co.uk

If you're shopping at Taylor Made RF (TMRF) ham amateur radio store.... You're part of the problem.

Be smart, Don't buy any products from Taylor Made RF. Till Chris Taylor forces Kinetic Avionics to release the SBS-4 ADS-B box.

ADS-B community won't shop to buy another product from Taylor Made RF. TMRF needs to stop selling outdated hardware.

The ADS-B community very disgusted at Taylor Made RF for still selling these many years old & outdated products ( Kinetic Avionics SBS-3 , Kinetic Avionics 1090 Puck).
The SBS-3 product was released in year 2012.

It might be best for TMRF to drop the 'Official worldwide distributor' for Kinetic Avionics Limited consumer products till they release newer ADS-B hardware.

Kinetic Avionics needs newer ADS-B hardware to complete with new ADS-B products that is better than Radarcape from modesbeast.com

We will not in any way support TMRF because they have ties with Anmer and what Anmer is doing to the ADS-B community.

TMRF is the largest provider for Kinetic Avionics products.
Chris Taylor ( G0WTZ ) should be demanding better from Kinetic Avionics and making those demands transparent to their customers and ADS-B Community.
They are one of the higher volume Kinetic Avionics distributor dealer.  I'm sure Kinetic Avionics would take notice.
Taylor Made RF should not try to pass that cheap outdated crap off to his customers.

It says it on his linkedin Kinetic-Avionics page.

Chris has been involved with the Kinetic SBS range of products since they were first introduced into the market and has supported them ever since, including holding the role of Sales & Product Manager at Kinetic. As a sign of his expertise with the SBS family of products, Taylor Made RF Limited have been appointed as the Official worldwide distributor for Kinetic Avionics Limited consumer products.

FlightAware Reaches New Heights with MLAT Aircraft Tracking

Tuesday, November 17, 2015

Tracking the global whereabouts of aircraft that are not ADS-B or datalink equipped just got easier

LAS VEGAS – November 17, 2015 – FlightAware is announcing a major innovation in global flight tracking with its launch of multilateration (MLAT) tracking of aircraft without ADS-B, an industry first for business aviation.

Leveraging FlightAware's network of over 4,000 receivers in more than 110 countries, FlightAware now offers live flight tracking positions for non-ADS-B equipped aircraft by using multilateration (MLAT) of Mode S transponder signals. When a non-ADS-B aircraft is within line of sight of three or more FlightAware receivers, time difference of arrival (TDOA) MLAT is used to triangulate the position of the aircraft, providing real-time flight positions even where radar data is not available to FlightAware.

Although many new aircraft are delivered with ADS-B and can be tracked with only one FlightAware receiver, many business aircraft operating globally do not emit ADS-B positions. These aircraft can now leverage FlightAware's MLAT network for real-time positions.

MLAT is currently available with about 2,000 existing receivers in the FlightAware network throughout Western Europe, over 40 states in the United States, Japan, Singapore, Eastern Australia, and New Zealand. Additional coverage will be added in December 2015. MLAT will be made available within all FlightAware products.

RELATED NEW DEVELOPMENTS
Flight Plan Advisories: FlightAware Global customers can now input schedules into FlightAware's Flight Plan Advisory Service web page. Subsequent positions received from that aircraft via RADAR, datalink, ADS-B, or MLAT automatically activate the flight plan and enable worldwide flight tracking.

Position-Only Flights: For flights without a flight plan (such as VFR repositioning flights), FlightAware can now synthesize a flight plan based on positions received from RADAR, datalink, ADS-B, or MLAT, which allows real- time tracking of unscheduled operations.

ABOUT FLIGHTAWARE
FlightAware (flightaware.com) is the largest flight tracking and flight data company in the world. FlightAware provides operational flight tracking services and data feeds by fusing data from the air traffic control (ATC) system in over 50 countries, FlightAware's worldwide ground station network of over 4,000 receivers in over 110 countries, and VHF/satcom ACARS data link networks. FlightAware provides services to over 10,000 business aviation aircraft around the world. Founded in 2005, FlightAware is privately held and has offices in Houston and New York.

Last comment on this thread. You can look up your other questions.

Radarcape was last updated in 2015

Kinetic Avionics SBS-3 is very outdated and it can only allow 1 outgoing connection from the box.
Radarcape can do multiple connections to share with all the software/tracking sites.

Anmer feels the same way about Kinetic Avionics and Taylor Made RF.
