All,

I am putting together an "unfiltered" flight tracking website.  http://www.adsbexchange.com

It's basically a co-op of feeders -  for hobbyists, by hobbyists.  We've tracked some "interesting" traffic via MLAT.  Register for access to the private forums, and you'll see what I mean.  I have also loaded in the entire US FAA registration database, so instead of just mysterious ICAO hex codes, you'll see who owns the aircraft, etc.

Take a look and I'd love it if some of you would consider feeding from your location!

Thanks,
Dan

Welcome Dan

I've been following your posts on the FlightAware forum.  Are you interested in feeds from outside the USA?

Yes!! I am especially interested in feeds outside the USA.

We'd like feeds from anywhere!  We have feeders in Australia and northern India/Pakistan as well as some of Europe.  Ideally if you do MLAT too, that would be great.

Thanks Dan

I guess the key question is this a free service just for enthusiasts or will it become another FR24/FlightAware "commercial" service over time?

Hosting a global server requires resource.

Don't let the fear of "consuming our resources" prevent you from feeding.  So far, the outlay has not been cost-prohibitive.  If it ever does become so, we'll do a donation drive, or maybe show some ads or something.

I don't have any plans to "go commercial" and even if I wanted to, it's a long way from that now anyhow.  Why, do you see "going commercial" in a negative way?

What makes you think that's how I see it?

I was only asking a question.

If you go "commercial" in the distant future, will you charge your volunteer feeders a fee to access other feeders' data ?
