A month ago, I have made a small RPi based ADS-B receiver, joined flightaware and czech SBS network.
Here: http://flightaware.com/adsb/stats/user/VladimirBednar are my FA stats, I have bad view to SE as the are some tall buildings, but the reception is quite good. Using home-made 26dB LNA + ADS-B filter, Co-Co antenna and RPi2 with rtl-sdr, all in one outdoor box.

How are you powering the RPi?

Hi,
I am using a simple 12V switched power supply, then passive PoE injector, in the box there is the same PoE injector used as extractor, 5V stabilizer circuit with 7805. LNA is powered from RPi GPIO 5V out and the power input on LNA is heavily filtered so switched supply does not matter.

This is the box from inside while testing, without the 5V circuitry (powered directly with 5V PSU), sdr is stripped because it wouldn't fit inside the box with cover on...
The box was designed to be mounted to a parabolic 5G antenna, so there is a window covered with acrylic glass...

He also told me, that without at least a noise generator and spectrum analyser this is impossible to tune (or very unlikely) but afaik rtlsdr dongle and noise generator should be enough to measure the filter
