From Bev at COAA:

Hi

In helping a user whose PlanePlotter installation could not open any of the test web pages in Help..Test networking, I found that changing from Edge to Internet Explorer as the default browser allowed those test pages to open correctly.

Further research led to this page :
which includes this paragraph :
"Once upon a time, an administrator was the unchallenged ruler on a Windows computer. An administrator account had no restrictions whatsoever. These times are over. Nowadays, an administrator is not even allowed to do what every standard user can do—that is, open common apps such as Microsoft Edge."

The user in question was logged in as an administrator and his default browser was Edge. Accordingly, PlanePlotter could not open a web page for any of the Help..tests.

Since IE predates the security paranoia that leads to Edge refusing to open, it works where Edge does not.

The moral of this story is not to run PlanePlotter as an Admin on Win!0 or to change the default browser to Internet Explorer.
