Hi Guys,

My old PC died and am now running BaseStation with PlanePlotter with the Kinetic's  1090 and SDR Pucks.

I have lost my old BaseStation.sqb and was wondering if there is anywhere to download an ubpdated BaseStation.sqb ?

Charlie,

You can get the PlaneBase one from within PP. Stop PP processing and then select:

Options>>Script>>Fetch SQB hex database

That will download the file and place it in the PP log files folder (I think).

That will get you going to start with.

Has anyone managed to download this sqb file via PlanePlotter?

I had an update message from Nic Storey via ModeSBeast forum and it doesn't work for me.

And I see someone else has a problem over on the Dark Side.

I just tried it (saved a copy of my existing one) and it worked fine. It renamed the old one and saved the PB one in the correct folder.

I won't be using it as I maintain my own, but as far as the mechanics of downloading it are concerned, it worked fine.

You do have to stop PP processing before the script runs though.

Thanks Tim.

I stopped PP and then selected "Fetch SQB hex database".

In the bottom left of the PP window it shows "Downloading database".  Then nothing else?  I can't find a downloaded sqb file anywhere.

Should it be in the Log files folder?

How long does the file take to download and when do you get a prompt to overwrite an existing file?

It downloaded in about 15-20 secs and it was then located in the folder specified in the directory options in PP, in my case it's in the BaseStation folder.

It didn't prompt me to overwrite, it renames the existing one with the date and time at the end and then copies the new BaseStation.sqb into the same folder.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks Tim. Yes makes sense.  But it's not downloading for me for some reason.

Firewall issue perhaps? Just guessing really.

Found the issue.

One has to first tell PP where to find an existing sqb file using:

Options-> SQB hex database options -> SQB hex code database file (eg basestation.sqb)

Hi Guys,

Worked for me with Mike's further suggestion above.

One thing to bear in mind is that the Planebase sqb file is "adjusted" and can interfere with other software that updates the BaseStation.sqb file, such as Active Display.
