Found it - the most stupid of mistakes.

I did not restart the daemon-spotter script   
So it was just using the old settings.

Remember : any changes to settings requires a restart of the daemon-spotter script (which basically does all the work aka the programme)

Now it uses my local thumbnails and only looks for external links when it is not availeble locally.  Pretty neat.
Would be great if it would would use local thumbails and external large pictures.

Just to inform you that the development of this web software is continuing.

Ysurac has solved many errors and made many layout changes
Amongst others he has included an accidents and incidents database which is updated daily
A Santa tracker is available in December.

The 3D interface has been updated

In the works is a flight diary - so that you can follow "your" planes
Airlines are now organised by alliance and the possibity to track planes by airline alliance is in the works
