How best to implement Basestation on Win10/64 ?

I once read about it all , but as times go by.....
I want to implement BS for SBS-3 to newer PC with Win10 Home (64bit)

Presently running on Win7 and still happy with it
BS 1.2.3.168
Firmware SBS-3 Build 113
(after initial tests never used the SDR-Function because of the limited Bandspread of each Tuner, so no need for newer)

My question now
what is the easiest way to implement BS in Win10 , and then preferably
the latest Versions BS and Firmware ?
And what to avoid in the first place with Win 10/64 ?
Virtual store is no problem ... being now used to it.

As download I have seen:
Firmware xxxx_0119_R_SBS3.kff
progUSBLattice.exe

BS 1-2-4-184-exe-only
BS-1-2-4-184-CDROM
Any difficulties with missing drivers or DLL to expect ?

What is the easiest way to do it then ?

Your helping info from your own experience is much appreciated here.
TIA
Klaus

I upgraded to a win 10 64 bit machine

I downloaded from kinetic site the basestation software and let it install itself without changing anything.

As you are aware of the virtual store, no need to go into detail.

You should have no problems with the installation. You will have to put in your location as normal.

Don't forget to take a copy of you sqb to replace the new installed one on you new pc.any probs give me a call

mhm has covered most things.

Download the CD file and install from that.

You may not need the new firmware.  If you do:

Personally I'd install outside of the Virtual Store and copy your existing files to the new location.  But it's your choice.

You may need to use the CDM20814_Setup file to force install the USB drivers.  But you may be using Ethernet?

And you may get a missing ftd2xx.dll message.  But you should have that on the old PC.

Post back here if you need any help.

Thanks for that quick response. Mike & Mike make a marvellous Team .
and for pointing me to the steps for Fw uploader
Shall observe your suggestions.
Since keeping the W7 Unit shall start with updating this one with Fw/Sw.
W10 comes next after setting up all the personal progs there.
Takes some time though, shall let you know how things fared then.

Glad that I updated Firmware within existing Win7 system
Now getting aquainted with Win10 shocked by the differences.
Connected SBS3 build 119 and downloaded and installed BS ex ...CD-ROM as suggested.
OK and the still virgin BS is running
So far so good, could customize and fill in Outlines + WPTs.
But then I had problems accessing the Virtual store, and when trying to copy
the pathes vanished again. Finally got my files into it.

Oh boy how I miss my 'beloved' Win7 .

Now BS is working in my way as well as the BS-Reporter recalling proper SQB.
new SQL-Browser comes next.

Thanks,

Are you unzipping the file before doing the install?
