Bandwidth and Google maps

Im running ModeSMixer2 on a Raspberry PI3 with a Prostick Plus.  I have a couple Niggles that I need to  find out about.

Google maps - comes up on occasion with a development use only or some message like that.  Ive read you need to give them a credit card number, not really into that.  Can we use a different map or other options?

Bandwidth -  On the charts page I get no bandwidth, how does one enable that.

Oh and one other

on the messages/aircraft reported the dates are European, is there a way to use the American version?  08/31 vs 31/08
