I use the Firefox browser as I like the great apps that reduce adds, delete cookies, prevent tracking, etc

But I could never save the VRS options I had selected.
They would alway dissapear after closing Firefox.
So everytime I started Firefox and VRS, VRS would show the basic configuration (with the location near London).

At first I thought that the apps were the problem but even after going through all the apps and telling them to ignore VRS I still could not save the configuration.

Finally I found that there is an option in the privacy settings of Firefox which is causing the problem

If you selected to delete the browsing history when Firefox is closed - Firefox will delete the VRS config data as well.

The solution is in the additional option panel for the history deletion.

There is one check box for deleting 'Offline Web Site data' make sure that it is unchecked !
Then the config data of VRS is saved and VRS starts with the correct settings.

I would add a screen shot but I only have the german version of Firefox.

Hope this helps somebody.
(I think there are similar options in Chrome and IE)

Thanks.

Is it this section?  I don't see the equivalent of your setup.

Sorry missed one point - the Browser History option must be set to  'User defined'
In your example it will always keep your history - then no problem.

But if your paranoid like me or just want to save disk space then you can have Firefox delete the history each time it is shut down.

I have attached two screenshots from my (german) Firefox Version 57-0-4 64bit.

Thanks.  I think this is the English equivalent.
