Plane label transparancy gone.

This has been driving me crazy for several days, have done hours of googling but have not found an answer.

When I first installed VRS the map had a button to cycle through the different looks for the labels, white, grey, transparent.

Since I was trying out lots of software I have been uninstalling and installing quite a bit, but now the button is gone.  I've tried the beta version, 32 bit, 64 bit, none of them bring the button to change the label look back.  Tried different browsers.

Anyone have any idea?  My two installs, one on a Raspberry Pi and one on my Windows 10 machine are stuck at one grey and one transparent.
